CBD Buying Guide

Civil servants, professional drivers, top athletes, children and young teenagers, sensitive individuals... for all these people, the presence of THC in the body is not recommended. That's why it's preferable to opt for cbd without thc, guaranteeing risk-free consumption of this compound. This is the case even though the maximum THC content permitted in CBD cannabis in Switzerland is 1%, and CBD products containing THC have no psychoactive effect.[1].

Whether due to their profession (police officer, firefighter, train conductor, airline pilot), regulations (such as anti-doping tests for athletes), their stage of development (such as children and young adolescents), or even concerns about the effects of THC, it is more appropriate for these individuals to use THC-free CBD products. Our section explains how to buy CBD in Switzerland with complete peace of mind.

In addition, it's essential to be well-informed about possible interactions between CBD and certain medications, as well as specific contraindications.

That's why, at Naturalpes, we've developed a dedicated range of products: the Wellness range.

How do these THC-free CBD products work? How do you get THC-free CBD products? Here's how.

The potential of cannabidiol (CBD) for the body

More than 100. That’s the number of phytocannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Among them are cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and about a hundred others, such as CBN, CBC, and CBG. For those looking for an alternative without psychoactive effects, THC-free CBD is an ideal option, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of cannabis without THC. But let’s get back to the basics: what is CBD used for?

In the medical study Antioxidative and Anti-Inflammatory Properties of Cannabidiolpublished in December 2019, researchers explain that CBD is "one of the most active phytocannabinoids derived from Cannabis sativa". It has, according to its authors, "no psychoactive effects but has multiple positive effects, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties."

To understand the potential of cannabidiol on the body, we must first bear in mind that every individual possesses an endocannabinoid system. Among other things, this system regulates numerous physiological functions on which THC-free CBD can act without causing psychotropic effects. Among other things, it regulates

Phytocannabinoids interact with this endocannabinoid system. A 2019 study on THC-free CBD oil explored these interactions and their effects in depth. The authors concluded that“for many diseases, CBD has therapeutic potential, particularly for conditions associated with oxidative stress.” Choosing THC-free CBD allows you to benefit from the properties of cannabidiol while avoiding THC, which may be an ideal choice for some people. Our Swiss CBD flowers are based on this same natural balance.

In THC-free CBD products, the challenge lies in removing the THC while preserving the other phytocannabinoids, since they work together to create synergies. This is known as the entourage effect. Our guide to Swiss organic CBD explains these processes.

Extraction: the key to THC-free quality products

The extraction process plays a fundamental role, as it is this stage that produces a quality product containing the maximum number of components. How to achieve quality and eliminate THC?

1) First, the cannabinoids must be extracted from the plants using one of three extraction techniques:

2) Once the plant has been extracted, it is heated and purified.

3) Finally, fractional distillation is carried out to concentrate the cannabinoids and enable the final stage: the THC removal process.

4) This THC removal process is carried out using flash chromatography. Based on the interaction between the components you wish to separate, this technique makes it possible to isolate components and obtain a pure sample. This is how THC-free CBD can be produced, while retaining all the other beneficial cannabinoids. Once this process has been carried out, the resulting distillate contains all the cannabinoids except THC.

Focus on sports

As we've seen, the endocannabinoid system regulates concentration, physical ability, motivation... in short, many benefits for athletes. That's why the use of THC-free CBD, which allows you to benefit from the effects of phytocannabinoids without the psychotropic substances, is attracting growing interest among athletes. How is the use of these compounds, which can impact these parameters, regulated in sport?

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which is responsible for scientific research, education, anti-doping development and monitoring compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code, is clear on this point. The classification of prohibited products includes THC and all synthetic cannabinoids.

CBD, on the other hand, is permitted. Its use will therefore not be penalized, and athletes may potentially see improvements in their daily lives by using these THC-free CBD products.
